The last of the major projects to be completed was hallway and staircase. We went back and forth on how to best accomplish this because we knew it was going to be like taking apart and reassembling a 3D life size puzzle! Several things had to be accomplished: Floors, treads, and risers needed to be sanded, stained and refinished. The walls needed to be repaired, sanded, primed and painted. Then, all that woodwork had to sanded, primed, and painted. And let’s not forget that we needed to get a big clawfooted tub up to the third floor bathroom so the bannister and balusters had to be removed. Also, the entire structure needed to be stabilized a bit and refinished anyway, so it was the perfect time to accomplish this. We also decided to paint the balusters white to brighten up the area a bit. It all sounds so easy as I write this so I’m not going to tell you how long it actually took to accomplish!
