The Blueberry Bramble Cocktail

July 19, 2014 by Brett Youmans 8 Comments

The Blueberry Bramble Cocktail | MisterMartha.com Blueberries have long been a source of inspiration.

In songs — Blueberry Hill is a popular song published in 1940 best remembered for its 1950s rock n’ roll version by Fats Domino.

In movies — Remember Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory?  Golden ticket winner Violet Beauregarde gets the taste of a lifetime trying out a new gum Wonka is working on that doubles as a three-course meal.  When Violet gets to the dessert course — blueberry pie — things go a little haywire and her skin’s pigment changes to a blueberry color.  That’s the stuff of childhood nightmares!

And, now in an icy liquid concoction.  Introducing {drum roll, please!} The Blueberry Bramble Cocktail! 6 ingredients never tasted so good!  St. Germaine elderflower liqueur, fresh blueberries, mint, vanilla vodka, club soda, and simple syrup come together to make a refreshing summer cocktail.

You’ve been single and unattached for a long time
now so you wonder why there’s just no blossoming romance happening to
you when you’ve tiresomely frequented lots of bars (or
wherever single men or women gather) seeking to bump to your next boyfriend or girlfriend.
These are touchy topics to talk about at anytime not to mention in the personals ad.
You’ve got nothing to reduce by using the best online dating and you can at least spend a few
hours about the live chat to discover whether you will find someone interesting or not.

Beets are one of the first things I get planted in the garden every year. Depending on the variety, they’re ready from seed to table in about 60 days. While we mostly associate this versatile vegetable with its deeply hued taproot, did you know the leaves are also edible? As they grow to maturity in the garden, I enjoy clipping the leaves for fresh crisp salads and quick stir-fry dishes. GreenThumbWhiteApron.com

Photo of jelly jars filled with Lavender-Strawberry Jam Spritzer Cocktail. We make strawberry jam every year and always have it on hand so it seemed natural to use it as a sweeter in this cocktail. When mixed together with a bit of lavender syrup, vanilla infused vodka, and club soda, you’ve got something quite special. GreenThumbWhiteApron.com

Perfect Steamed Eggs! The only sure-fire trick is to use old eggs. As eggs age, they gradually lose moisture through the pores in their shell and the air pocket at the tip expands. The pH of the whites also changes, going from a low pH to a relatively high pH, which makes them adhere less strongly to the shell. Farm-fresh eggs will always be tricky to age. Ideally, buy your eggs a week or two before you plan to boil them and let them age in the fridge.
