Had we followed our original plan, the third floor bathroom was supposed to be the first bathroom we would remodel. Winning that kitchen makeover threw a wrench in our plans and, as it turns out, this was the last major project that had to be completed. The entire bathroom was wallpapered—ceiling and all—in a godawful yellow gingham that, maybe back in the day was something special, but it made my eyes hurt. It was during this last and final major project that I would come to realize that I wish we had installed an elevator. Or at least an escalator. I mean, what are the odds of always needing (or forgetting!) what was 52 stairs steps down to the basement from here? This bathroom is the largest of the three and gave us the opportunity to install the clawfoot tub we wanted. Antique picture frames were repurposed as vanity mirrors and glass shelving built into the window provides a great home for potted plants. Check out the before pictures below–the transformation is nothing less than remarkable!
